Patterning for Cosplay Workshop - Sayakat Cosplay – Hands-On Event April 11

Cosplay and costumes often do not have commercially available patterns or if a commercial pattern exists it requires drastic revisions. This 2 hour class will discuss how to draft a custom pattern by modifying commercial patterns and how to create custom patterns for cosplay by creating a custom jacket pattern and mock up. Students will get hands-on pattern drafting experience. Sayakat Cosplay is a Baltimore based cosplayer with over a decade of cosplay experience and over 15 years of teaching experience. She is an award winning cosplayer and cosplay judge, most recently judging for the crown championships of cosplay at New York Comic Con. 

Materials:

Provided: Dress forms, sewing machines, thread in machines, scissors

Bring or purchase: 

• Mockup fabric - old sheets, muslin, etc
• pins/clips
• Markers
• paper/tape
