Fabric Arts: 4 Ruler work Quilting For Sit down Machines

Quilting with a ruler opens a new level of design, accuracy and beauty for the free motion quilter. Once just the territory of the long-arm frame quilter, the sit down quilter can now enjoy their use with the development of the ruler feet for the domestic machines. This does require some practice and understanding of how to use the rulesr with your machine. This four (4) hour class will provide an introduction to ruler work using the set of Bernina rulers for the sit-down machines. You should gain a solid understanding of how to handle the rulers, what they might help you accomplish, and provides some designs to use with the Bernina rulers. This is for an advanced beginner or intermediate free motion quilter, because you should have some basic understanding of free motion quilting. Requirements for this class: Your Bernina sewing machine (optional...you will need to use one of the Bernina 350's if you don't bring yours) Your slide on tray for your machine (totally neccessary for the ruler work, but optional if you do not bring your own machine) #72 ruler foot for Bernina machine Bernina Ruler set for sitdown machines Bernina echo attachment set for the ruler foot (optional but reccommended) A roll of blue painter's tape Project kit fee available from instructor in class $20 (cash/check) that includes a marked quilt sandwich, thread, a needle, a marking frame work plan (paper) for later use that will be explained in the class, and a class handout. Arrive with a notebook, pencil,scissors, and the aboved required tools, and a packed lunch and be prepared to have some fun!
